12/15/2023 0 Comments Arcade1up williams pinball![]() ![]() (I've found live ball catches do a good job of settling the ball down). on the Arcade1up pin (android version), it's a bit of an adventure, requiring a little more skill to ensure you successfully control it. In MM and AFM on PC, you hold up the left flipper and the ball easily comes to a rest in a nice cradle. For those that are used to PC Pinball FX3's physics (which are totally fun and more predictable), I've begun to wonder if the Android version physics are actually a little more realistic. Timing on the shots is on - I can hit my shots. The dragon flies all over the screen in MM as does the flying saucer in AFM, being an odd nuisance and blocking my view, but also taking advantage of the virtual pinball medium. I can turn on all effects (ball trails, pop-up scores, Williams effects) with no notable degradation in performance. Gameplay:With the accelerometer disconnected (quick 5-min unplug), the game plays really well. On Friday night, I had my breakthrough game in MM, getting oh-so-close to the "rule the king" mode and finishing with a 120m+ score. This solved my very frequent phantom nudges, which caused laggy moments and a sensation of lack of precision.Īll of the above games play very well. The big moment for me happened when I bit the bullet and disconnected the G-sensor (aka the Accelerometer). Since last time:I've continued to play mostly AFM and Medieval Madness, with some sprinkling of TOTAN, High Speed, and Road Show, so I can't speak to the gameplay of all the games. Lots of fun as is - worst case a nice shell for modders. Summary:A good first gen machine, hampered by some quality control gremlins (and possibly suspect hardware specs) that still need to be worked out. I've now had the Williams Pinball/AFM Pinball unit for about a week. ![]() Following up on my first impressions post on the Attack from Mars Pinball machine. ![]()
